Donald Trump formally nominated as the Republican presidential nominee

Arizona delegates to the Republican National Convention who don’t want to vote for Donald Trump are considering last-minute efforts to avoid casting a ballot for the presumptive nominee.

Prior to the nominating roll call, there were rumblings that some anti-Trump delegates were working to secure Cruz a nomination.

Mr Trump will be officially endorsed as the Republican Party’s presidential candidate at the convention in Cleveland later today.

Alaska also saw its Ted Cruz votes from its caucus go to Trump, and it halted the roll call briefly as it challenged the move.
