Donald Trump gets rare, commanding win in MA delegate selection
“The Trump camp, while they’re organized, I think some of their guys just don’t have the institutional knowledge that some of the folks that are in the Cruz orbit have”, the Party source said.

While I remain optimistic that Trump will win on the first ballot in Cleveland, I certainly hope the national delegates will consider the will of the voters in their states or congressional districts when casting subsequent ballots.
While state law dictates that Arizona’s 58 delegates must vote for Trump on the first ballot because he won the presidential preference election here, the state law also allows delegates to vote for other candidates after the first ballot if the convention is contested and there are multiple rounds of voting.
With Trump at almost 1,000 national delegates out of 1,237 he needs to win the presidential nomination outright after recent sweeps of five eastern states, even Cruz’s Arizona backers believe Saturday’s effort is likely to be for naught. Most of the newly elected national delegates have expressed allegiances to Ted Cruz. Just a few weeks ago, Trump again called for more government-run health care.
Almost all of Delaware’s 16 delegates to the GOP convention in Cleveland are committed to supporting Donald Trump even if the convention’s nominee-picking process goes past a first ballot, Trump campaign chairman Rob Arlett said Saturday.
But 13% of Hoosier voters surveyed said voluntarily that they didn’t know who they would vote for – and, paired with a 4.9% margin of error, that could still put the candidates in a neck-and-neck race. Vice presidential selections rarely move votes in a general election, but Trump opponents are hopeful Fiorina can help Cruz in the Golden State’s primary.
Cruz and Fiorina have been campaigning vigorously in the Hoosier State as voters take to the polls on Tuesday for the in primary. “I went over and communicated with them”, Cruz said.
In many states so far, supporters of Texas Sen. But Cruz supporters are putting forth slates in all eight districts in Missouri, including those won by Trump. Frankly, if Hillary Clinton were a man, I don’t think she would get 5% of the vote.
“The delegates are supposed to represent the people and that didn’t happen”, Schenberg said. This has to do with how IN distributes delegates: “30 to the statewide victor, plus three to the victor of each of the state’s nine congressional districts”. Despite winning more states than his rivals, Trump’s campaign team has been outplayed by Cruz’s in the intricate game of ensuring that supportive delegates make it to the convention.
