Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas has vaulted into second place, amid signs that he has picked up former Carson supporters. Sen.

A Reuters/Ipsos survey released Friday shows that 35 percent of Republican voters support Trump, putting him far ahead of closest rival Ben Carson, who has the backing of just 12% of voters. Although Carson has been losing support rapidly to Cruz, he would win 47 percent of the vote, compared to Clinton’s 46 percent, according to the poll, and it’s independents who prefer Carson here, 48 percent, compared to 34 percent for Clinton.

“She’s got no strength, she’s got no stamina, everything she does is like theatrical”, Trump said of Clinton, before mocking her recent statement about him that “I think he’s unsafe”.

After that story, Cruz issued a statement saying that voters have to make a basic decision about all candidates: “Who has the right judgment and the right experience to serve as Commander in Chief?” Marco Rubio with 17 percent.

“You can’t walk into the Senate and scream and call people liars and not be able to cajole and get along with people”, Trump later added, apparently referring to Cruz’s clash earlier this year with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Carson is garnering 11 percent and Bush and Carly Fiorina are grabbing up 7 and 5 percent respectively.

‘Because I’m more capable, because I have a much better temperament, because I actually get along with people much better than he does, ‘ Trump said.

Sparring began with Trump’s “Fox News Sunday” appearance, when he referred to Cruz as “a little bit of a maniac”.

Trump has become increasingly willing to jab at Cruz amid his surge in polls, where he is challenging Trump’s status as the front-runner in the influential first-caucus state of Iowa.

Twitter appears to be the political weapon of choice for the two leading Republican presidential candidates.

“One of the reasons I’m sitting here and one of the reasons I’m so high in the polls is because it all started with the borders”, Trump told CNN.
