However, there could still be significant changes that could affect the overall outcome of the polls.

And Trump is faring worse among the state’s white voters than Mitt Romney, who carried the group by 24 points in his 2012 race against Barack Obama. But it’s not working right now and the downward poll numbers are striking.

Other interesting results from the survey include 30 percent of Texans identifying as moderate, compared to 13 percent identifying as somewhat liberal and 29 percent as somewhat conservative.

The poll, conducted by Magellan, can be located here with it’s full list of questions asked. Aggregating the last six surveys released since August 4, Real Clear Politics found that Clinton now leads Trump by an average 6.7 percentage points. The Washington Post poll, conducted August 11-14 by telephone, included 888 registered voters with a 4-point margin of error and 707 likely voters with a 4.5-point margin of error.
