Donald Trump goes to Oz with health report

U.S. presidential hopeful Donald Trump has handed over a one-page summary of a recent physical examination on a doctor’s television show – but his campaign will not reveal what was disclosed.

Trump was interviewed for “The Dr. Oz Show”, on Wednesday, a day before the letter from Bornstein was released by the campaign.

In it, Trump’s doctor, Harold Bornstein, reported normal readings from a series of medical tests.

Trump was hospitalized only once, the letter said, as an 11-year-old, to have his appendix removed. He doesn’t use tobacco or alcohol.

The Trump campaign said the note shows the GOP nominee has “the stamina to endure – uninterrupted – the rigors of a punishing and unprecedented presidential campaign and, more importantly, the singularly demanding job of President of the United States”.

Clinton’s personal physician, Dr. Lisa Bardack, said in a letter that accompanied the records, that her patient was “recovering well with antibiotics and rest” after she fell ill Sunday during a 9/11 memorial service at ground zero.

Trump’s senior campaign aides said in a conference call Wednesday that his conversation with Oz would not touch on the exam. A Washington Post analysis found that Trump’s plan would immediately target 5 million to 6.5 million or more undocumented immigrants for swift removal. Trump and his surrogates, including former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, had been raising doubts about Hillary Clinton’s health through rumor and innuendo. His blood pressure was reportedly good as was his cholesterol, though he is on cholesterol medication.

Oz on Thursday said the records show Trump is “without question” healthy enough to be president.

Bardack said Clinton is up to date on all vaccines, including two given to help prevent pneumonia – Prevnar and Pneumovax. According to the letter, his calcium score was last measured in 2013 and was 98.

Oz will not review the results of Trump’s recent physical, according to the Trump camp. Bornstein later admitted to writing the letter in five minutes while a limousine sent by the candidate waited outside.

Trump said that he sometimes plays golf with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

The appearance with Oz came hours before Trump was to visit Flint, Michigan, to condemn the government failure which led to that city’s water crisis.

“Why isn’t President Obama working instead of campaigning for Hillary Clinton?”.

Let’s hope that in the next couple of months leading up to November 8 we can spend more time on the substance of Clinton and Trump’s proposed policies rather than on the sideshows of weird statements and occasional missteps.
