The selection of Bannon suggested that Trump is aiming not so much to tone down his aggressive style but to be more disciplined in emphasizing themes that resonate strongly with the voters he is trying to court, such as his stances on immigration and criticism of Clinton. Ms Conway has experience with political campaigns, having previously worked with former Vice-President Dan Quayle and former House speaker Newt Gingrich.
On Wednesday morning, Trump told the Associated Press of Bannon and Conway, “I’ve known both of them for a long time“.
When Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields accused Lewandowski of manhandling her at a Trump rally, the conservative media outlet sided with the Trump campaign.
Bannon comes to the Trump campaign after serving as an executive at Breitbart News, a conservative news site and blog.
