Republican Donald Trump won sweeping victories in the primaries across five northeastern US states on Tuesday night, making a contested Republican National Convention even less likely, multiple media outlets reported.
Trump remains the only Republican who has a chance to reach the 1,237-delegate majority needed to clinch the nomination before the convention. “The handsome thing is, women don’t like her. Look how well I did with women tonight”, he said, according to ABC News. His opponents, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, hope to take a few delegates but largely have begun focusing on upcoming contests.

“It is big news today that John Kasich has chose to pull out of IN to give us a head-to-head contest with Donald Trump”, the fiery conservative told reporters.
The plan carries risks – especially as Trump bashes a “rigged” nomination system.
While some analysts believe the arrangement will backfire against Cruz and Kasich, Cathie Adams, a Cruz supporter in North Dallas, believes it won’t help the billionaire frontrunner.
“Overall, this week’s 6-point swing – Trump up 4 points, Cruz and Kasich down 2 points – is the biggest weekly shift in the poll so far”, NBC says. Asked what IN voters should do next week, the OH governor urged them to vote for him.
“When just looking at Republicans, excluding independents who lean toward the Republican Party, he now enjoys 49 percent support compared to 43 percent last week”, NBC News said in a release. I’m not spending resources there.
Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid said Tuesday he does not think Bernie Sanders has a path to winning the Democratic presidential nomination.
