The scripted bit happened on Saturday Night Live this past weekend, towards the end of Trump’s monologue. “The answer is, I have nothing better to do”.

Donald Trump made his return to SNL Saturday night, and was heckled during his opening monologue after many had cried foul over his appearance on the program for past remarks on Mexican immigrants – but it wasn’t by someone viewers would have expected.

It insinuated not only did Trump follow through with his promise to build a wall on the southern border, but he also convinced Mexico to pay for it. “Americans are sick of winning”, he was told.

In the third sketch, he live-tweeted his reactions. Trump’s 12-plus minutes of airtime also triggered the FCC’s equal-time rule, meaning NBC stations are obliged to offer equal airtime to his Republican competitors. Several hundred protesters, many representing Latino groups, marched through NY from Trump Tower to NBC’s headquarters, brandishing signs including “Dump Trump” and ‘#racismisntfunny’.
