Donald Trump: How the media created the President

Changing this system would require a constitutional amendment, which would be very hard, says Joshua Tucker, associate professor of politics at New York University.

It was confirmed yesterday that vice-president-elect Mike Pence will lead president-elect Trump’s transition team, replacing New Jersey governor Chris Christie. He secured 271 electoral college votes to Al Gore’s 266 (one elector abstained from casting an electoral vote for the latter). People were upset about the direction that the country was going and they wanted a change.

I don’t know what issue will necessitate such a demonstration, although my best guess right now is that it will involve immigration, where Trump seems likely to try to follow through on some of his campaign rhetoric. (Politico “What was Hillary Clinton’s real downfall: complacency” 11.10.16) Forbes magazine reported that another theory is that Clinton alienated millennial voters, based on exit polls.

Then, there are also many people of good conscience who voted for Trump.

In Europe, where Obama has sought unity with allies to counter Russia’s growing influence, North Atlantic Treaty Organisation members are alarmed by Trump’s suggestions that the US might pull out of the alliance if other countries don’t pay more.

Trump is gearing up for a strong beginning to his presidency. He’ll have to go through the Senate and Congress.

He played a significant role in Mr Trump’s campaign and was spotted at the White House on Thursday as Mr Trump met Mr Obama to discuss the transition of power.

To those engaging in destructive behavior while protesting: Stop.

Up north in the state of OR, about 300 people marched through downtown Portland and dozens of them blocked traffic in the city and enforced a delay for trains on two light-rail lines.

But fear not America, there’s a reprieve from this chaos and a way to change the result.

If you are mad about the election results, you shouldn’t look any further than yourself. They will, however, be able to rely on the budget reconciliation process, which only requires 50 votes, to strip funding for the law’s Medicaid expansion program, insurance subsidies, and tax penalty mandate.

Supporters of the current system say it makes candidates address the needs of smaller states and not just focus on those with big population centers.

Once the remaining ballots from California have been counted, it is estimated that Barack Obama would be the only presidential candidate in history to earn more votes than Clinton.

“We are now talking about how we are going to hit the ground running to make sure that we can get this country turned around and make America great again”, Ryan said. Remember the slogan, “We are the 99 percent”.
