Donald Trump Insists Mexico will Pay for ‘Wall’ While Outlining Immigration Policy
The two men met privately and discussed a range of topics that included illegal immigration and the possibility of amending the North Atlantic Free Trade Agreement, but they came away with markedly different interpretations on the question of Mexico’s willingness to pay for a wall. He rejected any notion of “amnesty” for undocumented immigrants, unequivocally denouncing the idea that anyone can attain USA citizenship by entering the country without authorization.

The Republican presidential nominee promised Wednesday to remove millions of people living in the United States illegally if elected, warning that failure to do so would jeopardize the “well-being of the American people”.
‘It’s the same kind of language that people like Donald Trump have used against every immigrant group that’s come to this country, ‘ Kaine said in an appearance on ‘CBS This Morning’. You can call it whatever the hell you want.
Local viewers of the 72-minute speech said Trump failed to address key issues related to race relations and income inequality.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump delivers an immigration policy speech during a campaign rally at the Phoenix Convention Center, Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, in Phoenix.
Aimed at ending weeks of confusion over just where he stands on immigration, Trump’s fiery speech was filled with applause lines for his loyal supporters. He even praised Mexican immigrants.
“I was under the impression, that I think all Latino leaders were given, that he was going to deal with the undocumented in a compassionate, humane way”, Aguilar, who is the president of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles and former chief of the Office of Citizenship under President George W. Bush, told USA TODAY.
Nieto later tweeted in Spanish: ‘From the start of the conversation, I made it clear Mexico will not pay for that wall’. Pena Nieto, at the time, said nothing about the wall. It was previosuly 10 points. “From promises to build a wall and deport Dreamers to keeping refugees out, he is sealing his fate with large segments of the electorate”.
“We felt he hit all the important points”, said Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform. In fact, the most common type of felony conviction on illegal immigrants’ records concerns violating immigration law.
Trump is said to have been mulling whether to soften his hardline policies, particularly his early call to deport some 11mn undocumented migrants living in the shadows.
In the Arizona speech, Trump laid out his immigration plan – immediately deporting 2 million criminal immigrants, verifying that workers are legal, and cracking down on those who over stay visas.
The only path to legalization, he said, is to leave the country. His economic policy speech the week prior followed the same pattern: After promising that he’d explain the details of his tax plan, Trump basically just told the audience that taxes are bad, and that America should have less of them. I thought that took bold leadership. “He said very specifically that we have to treat everybody with respect and dignity and we certainly endorse that”, he said. The issue of the wall’s cost had taken over the news and Twitter feeds earlier in the evening.
None of the Trump surrogates appearing across the media landscape Wednesday night seemed to dispute this, saying rather that the Wednesday meeting had “not been a negotiation” and that more formal talks would ensue on the wall and its financing. He says Trump should’ve looked Peña Nieto in the eye and honestly discussed the wall.
Johnson’s campaign already is fiercely critical of Trump’s idea of a border wall, saying it would be “expensive and useless”.
“[I made it clear] that Mexico will not pay for the wall”, Nieto tweeted.

The rest of Trump’s event also seemed programmed to highlight his anti-illegal-immigration credentials.
