Donald Trump is still lying about the Iraq War
After Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump praised Russian President Vladimir Putin in a national security forum Wednesday night, the Trump campaign doubled down on its support of the dictator, suggesting the NY businessman prefers authoritarian-style leadership over a democratic one and even cited that Putin enjoys 82 percent support.

Putin is “very much of a leader”, Trump said on Wednesday in a televised national security forum, where he and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton each fielded 30 minutes of questions.
“I think Vladimir Putin has done some awful things, and there’s been some speculation and conjecture of what’s taken place inside the Kremlin”, he said.
House Speaker Paul Ryan said Thursday he disagreed with Trump’s characterization of Putin, calling the Russian leader “an aggressor that does not share our interests” who “is violating the sovereignty of neighboring countries”.
“In the full clip he said, ‘That’s not the system I agree with, but he’s a strong leader there, ‘” Conway said.
“When an Army veteran in the audience asked Mrs. Clinton to describe her plan to defeat the Islamic State, Mr. Lauer interjected before the candidate could begin her reply”. Pat Buchanan, whose presidential campaigns prefigured Trump’s, perfectly expressed nationalist Americans’ affinity for Putin in a 2013 column, “Is Putin One of Us?”.
“Speaking in December, the Russian leader said Trump is a very outstanding person, talented, without any doubt”.
Clinton, also asked about the issue, pointed to her recently rolled out mental health policy agenda.
Trump also flirted with revealing what he had been learning in classified intelligence briefings given to him by USA officials because he is the Republican nominee.
Dispiritingly, Trump’s man-crush on Russian strongman Vladimir Putin still burns brightly.
Mr Obama is expected hit the campaign trail with Mrs Clinton when he returns to the United States, with voter turnout likely to be a key theme. The Republican defended his preparedness to be commander in chief despite vague plans for tackling global challenges and the Democrat argued that her controversial email practices did not expose questionable judgment.
“The generals under Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have not been successful”.
“Well, I think you heard what Mike Pence said”, he said.
“He said his trip was a success because the finance minister got fired”, Clinton said. “I mean they’ll take a statement that you make which is ideal and they’ll cut it up and chop it up and shorten it or lengthen it or do something with it”. “At the very least, if you know anybody who’s even thinking of voting for Trump, stage an intervention”, Clinton said. “Last night, Twitter tore him a new tweethole with criticisms NY magazine summed up by saying, ‘Matt Lauer’s interviews of Clinton and Trump were a complete disgrace to journalism'”.
“She is the corrupt establishment”, Trump said.
But she said it meant she was in “the best possible position” to ensure it never happened again.
Election training groups say officials should educate people about the process to calm concerns.

Clinton’s comments were followed by a concert by Streisand, who performed a version of the Stephen Sondheim song “Send in the Clowns” that parodied the NY businessman. Despite her employment at a right-leaning network, Megyn Kelly stands out as the journalist who has been toughest on Trump to date.
