Donald Trump levels harsh criticism against US military generals
Donald TrumpDonald TrumpPoll shows Clinton, Trump close in four swing states Would Trump seek a Mideast war for oil? Liberals are serving notice to Holt that if he goes as easy on Trump as his network colleague Lauer, NBC’s going to take a beating. While the candidates never appeared on stage together, their back-to-back sessions served as a preview of sorts for their upcoming presidential debates.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has detailed plans to launch a new United States military build-up if he wins November’s election.
NPR’s national security team will have a fact-check of the Commander-In-Chief Forum on Thursday morning.
Clinton frequently recounts for voters her involvement in the operation as President Barack Obama’s secretary of state.
“When she lays out a thoughtful speech outlining why he is unfit to be commander in chief, he calls her unhinged”.
Both made major factual errors-although Trump made far more of them.
She said of classified material, “There is a header so there is no dispute at all so what is being communicated to or from someone is marked classified”.
“I don’t understand the reasons for it”, she said. “There were no headers”.
On Wednesday afternoon, just eight hours before the forum, Trump proposed a dramatic expansion in the size of the military, increasing the army from 475,000 active duty soldiers to 540,000 – roughly the amount deployed at the height of the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars – and adding roughly 100 ships and fighter jets to the Navy and Air Force.
“Obviously it’s not something that would get through this Congress, so that’s something we’d have to look at the election next year”.
Trump proposed increasing the Army to 540,000 troops and adding almost 75 new warships for the Navy, as well as buying dozens of new fighter jets for the Air Force, which will require up to $90 billion a year in additional spending.
But that wouldn’t include committing more forces to the effort. She also flushed out several national security priorities if she is elected, including trying to take out the leader of the Islamic State and vowing to defeat the extremist group without putting US troops on the ground in Iraq or Syria. And we’re not putting ground troops into Syria. They are not going to get ground troops.
Trump said at the forum that USA military generals had been “reduced to rubble” under Obama “to a point where it’s embarrassing to our country” and suggested that he might fire some of them.
Her husband Bill Clinton was President from 1992 to 2000; she voted in favour of Republican President George W Bush’s war in Iraq in 2003, and from 2008 to 2012, she was Secretary of State. “Hillary Clinton’s staff deleted and digitally bleached, which is acid clean, her emails after receiving a Congressional subpoena, that’s after receiving, not before”, Trump said. But he also noted he still has “great faith in the military”.
Also on Wednesday, Clinton’s campaign announced that 95 retired generals and admirals have endorsed her presidential bid, one day after a group of 88 retired generals and admirals signed an open letter backing Trump to reverse the “hollowing out” of the us military.
“I’m not asking for any special treatment”, she said.
“I have a substantial chance of winning – make America great again”, he said.
Mitt Romney, the 2012 GOP presidential nominee, carried the state narrowly after President Obama won it in 2008. Now it turns out that the businessman has filled up his bank account with money from the controversial Islamic kingdom.
Clinton, who has cast Trump as dangerously ill-prepared to be commander in chief, tried to center the discussion on her foreign policy proposals.

Trump’s decision to praise Putin minutes before criticizing the military’s generals and admirals is likely to draw the ire of the military, which is now confronting a Russian air campaign on behalf of Syrian President Bashar al Assad. “Right now the court system practically doesn’t exist”. The most galling was that sexual assault in the military was, at least in part, due to the integration of men and women-as opposed to the fault of rapists themselves. “Well, it is – it is – it is a correct tweet”. To knowingly allow false information to spread via your airwaves to millions of people is to fail the first and most important obligation of journalism.
