Presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump told Megyn Kelly of his White House bid, “If I don’t win, I will consider it to be a total and complete waste of time, energy and money”.

In the end, the interview broadcast on Tuesday night was essentially underwhelming; Ms Kelly pushed firmly but politely at Mr Trump, but the NY tycoon gave little away. “In a certain way, I don’t even think that’s healthy”. Does he think presidents should make repeated misogynistic statements about women? That was the first question that I’ve ever been asked during a debate and I’ve never debated before. Reporter: Their first interview since this explosive moment at that republican presidential debate nine months ago. “So I’m saying to myself ‘I’ve got two hours of this?'” But while Kelly’s profile has certainly grown alongside the rise of Trump, it’s because she had the courage and savvy to call him out when others were still covering him as a farce.

“Did I say that?”

Mr Trump said that that while he had been outspoken about number of people, he claimed that in most cases he was only defending himself.

Kelly also gave Trump ample time to explain away nearly all of his transgressions, from his incendiary tweeting to his inflammatory rhetoric.

USA Today said Trump acknowledged that he attacked the TV host through social media but noted that many of his fans also hated him for his tirades on Kelly. “I try and unwound myself”.

Kelly: You said a mistake. Mr Trump went on, as if he didn’t hear her. John McCain or Carly Fiorina’s face. She asked him if he has any regrets. “I don’t say that as a positive [about me], I think it’s a negative for me”. The book shows how I did just that with some tears and laughs along the way.

“If I were soft, if I were presidential.in a way it’s a bad word because there’s nothing wrong with being presidential”.
