Donald Trump officially clinches Republican presidential nomination
He also tried to blame Hillary Clinton.

New Jersey governor Chris Christie led delegates in declaring Clinton “guilty” and encouraged visceral chants of “lock her up”.
And in turn, and on cue, the crowd yelled: “Guilty!”
The last thing Trump and Republicans need is another distraction. “It is something I will never, ever forget”.
“It’s my honor to be able to throw Donald Trump over the top in the delegation count tonight”, the candidate’s son Donald Trump Jr told delegates at the Republican National Convention which erupted in cheers and applause.
That allowed Trump to have the convention he wanted, as House Speaker Paul Ryan offered his strongest backing yet for his party’s standard-bearer.
Trump clinched the nomination almost two months ago.
“This is a movement”, he told the delegates via video link.
Party leaders concentrated their fire on Clinton.
“In this particular case, the state rules. says that the candidates that are submitted that run in the election, if they drop out, the bound vote gets reallocated to the only candidate left that’s running”. Instead of a manicured message of unity, viewers saw the fractured face of a party still coming to grips with the polarizing man of the moment.
Today, less than 24 hours after Melania Trump was accused of partially plagiarising her speech to the Republican National Convention, another of Donald Trump’s family members was caught up in a similar controversy. The stumble by the campaign, coming on the heels of other missteps, also undercut Trump’s efforts to portray himself a skilled executive and manager.
Paul Manafort, the Trump chief strategist, whose idea it was to try to recreate a more personable Trump persona and who is likely to take the fall for this, described plagiarism claims as “crazy”.
Unsurprisingly, the Trump campaign is blaming the media for creating a storm aimed at targeting Ms Trump.
Om Tuesday, Ryan said the party’s differences are “signs of life, signs of a party that’s not just going through the motions” while Clinton is offering “a third Obama term”.
Most of the party’s senators who are facing tough re-elections aren’t attending the convention. But one, Senate Homeland Security Chairman Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, reversed earlier plans to skip the event for the opportunity to speak in prime time.
While politicians at the podium heaped criticism on Clinton, Trump’s children made direct appeals in favor of Trump.
“Our future hangs in the balance. We will come together that’s just the bottom line”.
“It doesn’t have to be like this – we shouldn’t have to live in fear”, Johnson said.
For a time Monday, the Cleveland arena resembled the convention-floor battles of old as aggrieved anti-Trump Republicans protested the adoption by voice vote of rules aimed at quashing an already flailing effort to deny him the prize.
Republicans formally nominated billionaire real estate developer Donald Trump to be their candidate for USA president.
The other votes went to Cruz (475), Kasich (120), Rubio (114), neurosurgeon Ben Carson (7), former Florida governor Jeb Bush (3), and Kentucky Sen.

In the respective speeches, both Michelle and Melania stressed that they were raised to respect that “your word is your bond” and that you do “what you say you’re going to do”. The first call I got – as I knew I would – was my father. So the outcome was preordained as the convention secretary, Susie Hudson of Vermont, called the roll of the states Tuesday evening.
