Donald Trump ‘Officially’ Named GOP Nominee, His Staff Responds to Plagiarism Accusations

Trump, July 18: I wanted it to be here.

Each time, delegates are responding with boisterous chants of “guilty”. John Kasich once envisioned a scenario where he would swoop into the party’s convention and seize the Republican presidential nomination from Donald Trump.

Underscoring the problems Trump has faced with U.S. allies overseas, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Trump threatened USA and world security with his “politics of fear and isolation”.

After a chaotic start, Donald Trump is under pressure to steady his Republican convention as a plagiarism charge and other unforced errors threaten to overshadow GOP efforts to unify behind him. There were no big missteps Tuesday, but the event was void of the glitzy, Hollywood touch Trump promised, with a series of Republican officials parading on stage to level sharp, but repetitive, criticisms of Clinton. Now, like most of Ohio’s members of Congress, he has lined up behind the Trump campaign. “It’s my honor to be able to throw Donald Trump over the top in the delegate count tonight, with 89 delegates…”

Donald Trump’s oldest daughter says senior Republican figures who are not attending this week’s national convention “don’t want to be part of the narrative, they don’t want to be part of the future”. Ryan, the 2012 vice presidential nominee, didn’t excite the audience the way Christie did but he offered the only coherent statement of Republican philosophy heard all week.

After a turbulent campaign that saw Trump defeat 16 rivals and steamroller stubborn party opposition, the tycoon said it was time to “go all the way” and beat Democrat Hillary Clinton in November. “The team said, ‘Let’s stand up and support the nominee'”.

Many Republican leaders stayed away from the convention, still wary of being associated with the divisive candidate and unsure how his nomination impacts their own political futures. And that’s where picking a fight with Ohio’s Republican governor-who has an 80 percent approval rating among GOP voters and 58 percent overall in the state-could backfire. And RNC Committeewoman Lily Nunez supported Trump.

The real estate mogul from NY clinched the nomination as party delegates from the country’s 50 states, five territories and Washington, D.C. cast their votes. Ted Cruz, the man Trump used to call “Lyin’ Ted”. Trump was put over the top by his home state of NY. Four of his children joined the state’s delegation on the convention floor for the historic moment and appeared overwhelmed with emotion. “Congratulations dad, we love you”.

Today, much of the focus was on last night’s speech by Melania Trump.

The plagiarism accusations centered on Monday night’s well-received speech by Trump’s wife, Melania. Two passages were almost identical to a 2008 Democratic convention address by Mrs. Obama.

Donald Trump told Fox News that he “recommended” that the Republican National Convention be held in OH, saying, “I wanted it to be here”.

It is possible that Trump voiced an opinion to someone with the Republican Party.

Clinton pounced on the tumult, saying the Republican gathering had so far been “surreal”, comparing it to the classic fantasy film “Wizard of Oz”.

Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama, an ardent Trump supporter, nominated Trump just before 6pm ET, concluding, “Donald Trump is the singular leader that can get this country back on track”. So the outcome was preordained as the convention secretary, Susie Hudson of Vermont, called the roll of the states Tuesday evening. To shore up his stated opposition, the Trump camp points to January 2003, a few months before the invasion, when he told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto that “perhaps we should be waiting for the United Nations”. It’s all for show so the Republican Party can dishonestly paint a picture that they represent the democratic process of balance and fairness.

I know I wasn't supposed to be on stage tonight but our keynote speaker Alf canceled last minute' Fallon's Trump began.'Did you see Melania? he asked.'She stole the show. Literally
