Donald Trump on reporters: ‘I would never kill them’
The fake announcement, put out in a video ad on Saturday, proclaimed that Trump had selected Putin as his running mate in the 2016 campaign, stating, “In a bold and visionary move characteristic of everything he does, today terrific billionaire Donald Trump named Russian president Vladimir Putin as his running mate in the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign”.

They both criticize the media that criticize them, yet neither is a stranger to the art of media manipulation or, in Putin’s case, intimidation.
They say, ‘He killed reporters.’ I said, ‘Really?
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio slammed Trump on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” saying that he shouldn’t be honored by the Russian leader. “Of course we welcome it”, he added.
In response to criticism for the mysterious deaths of journalists under the Putin regime, Trump suggested that US does its own fair share of killing. “So what happens with a deal-maker is you have an instinct, because deals are not deals, they’re people”.
“I think Hillary Clinton, when she was secretary of state, made some awful, frightful decisions, and thousands and thousands and even hundreds of thousands of people have been killed”, Trump said. He is a strong leader… He’s actually got popularity within his country…. “What am I gonna say, he’s a weak leader?” “That’s how you create a better relationship with Putin”.
On Sunday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie – one of Trump’s opponents for the GOP nod – said during his own interview on “This Week” that he “wouldn’t want” Putin’s endorsement.
Donald Trump has never been shy when it comes to expressing his feelings about reporters.
“I was able to get a sense of his soul”, said Bush.
He called Vladimir Putin “pootie-poot”. In summer 2008, Putin invaded Georgia.
When critics pointed out that Putin kills his adversaries, including journalists, Trump challenged that, saying that has never been proved.
“I think it was despicable if that took place, but I haven’t seen any evidence that he killed anybody in terms of reporters”, Trump said. “A lot of killing going on, a lot of stupidity and that’s the way it is”.
The leading Republican candidate was challenged by host George Stephanopoulos to condemn the killings of journalists, citing the 2006 murder of investigative reporter Anna Politkovskaya, which some activists have long linked to the Russian government.

Translation: Trump plans to not kill journalists in the same way that Putin does not kill journalists, i.e. he’d make sure his tracks were fairly well-covered.
