Donald Trump paints dark vision of America in “authoritarian” convention speech

Republican presidential nominee Donald J. Trump in his acceptance speech said the United States was in a moment of crisis.

“And I’ve got to say, as he said this last night, I was pretty shocked”.

At the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia next week, Clinton would officially be nominated as the party’s presidential nominee for the November general elections.

“Ted Cruz was right … vote your conscience”.

Clinton encouraged voters to do what Cruz advised and cast their ballot for president in accordance with their conscience.

“I like that there’s no tension between them and they all support him”, Gibson said.

“I didn’t meet any one of them who said, ‘Hey, I can fix it alone, ‘” Clinton said, moving back to Trump. Now, just think about that for a minute, because it’s really important. His vision of America is one where we Americans are kind of helpless – where we need to be rescued.

She also tore into Trump for claiming he “alone” can fix the nation’s problems, calling his vision “dark and divisive”. “Now you can’t really put this into laws, what I’m about to say – but we need more love and kindness in this country, we need more respect between and among our fellow Americans”.

But, halfway through the speech some described as “demagogic”, as he spoke about immigration from countries “compromised by terrorism”, the presidential candidate let out an unscripted roar: “We don’t want them in our country!” he shouted, his face red with anger and exertion. “Well, he doesn’t understand that Americans, we Americans, we are strong, big-hearted, result-oriented, generous people in America”, she said.
