The Donald Trump campaign is hosting a “welcome home rally” in Zionsville for VP candidate and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence. That Republican also spoke on condition of anonymity, because the person was not authorized to publicly discuss the conversation.

Trump announced his selection on Twitter on Friday morning and said there would be a news conference Saturday. He said it is in line with Trump’s personality and it indicates Trump wants to make sure people know he’s in charge. A major shake-up for IN politics could be coming this week as Trump considers Pence as his Republican vice presidential choice.

The billionaire said later that night he’d not yet settled on a “final, final” decision, leaving open the possibility the unpredictable presumptive nominee could change his mind.

Trump’s statement followed his decision late on Thursday to scrap plans to hold a joint event on Friday with his vice-presidential candidate because of the terrorist attack in southern France, and a lack of clarity about whether a formal offer had been made to Pence.

Other candidates in the running to stand with Mr Trump were the former speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich and the New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie. In addition to Pence’s deadline in IN, the Republican convention kicks off in Cleveland Monday.
