The Republican primaries have hit a new low, with an anti-Trump super PAC attacking Donald Trump’s wife, and Trump responding in kind and threatening Ted Cruz’s wife. He couldn’t just condemn the use of his wife’s photo in this ad. He couldn’t tell the public that his wife’s former profession had no bearing on his ability to govern. RightWisconsin endorsed the Texas senator this week, citing his chances at beating Trump for the Republican presidential nomination. Republicans most likely to vote in primary elections tend toward the party faithful – conservative in their politics, mostly white and over 55 years old. And when Walker exited the race, many state GOP leaders flocked to Marco Rubio, who was expected to be a front-runner before he, too, left the race.

The SuperPAC Make America Awesome created the ad, but Donald Trump blamed the tasteless attack on Ted Cruz.
“With his endorsement of Mr. Cruz, Mr. Bush is sending two messages to voters: Reject Mr. Trump, and do not keep Mr. Kasich’s candidacy alive”, according to The Times.
He said: “Ted Cruz’s problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin’ Ted Cruz”. Almost 42 per cent said they believed that Maine’s on the wrong track and the “ineffective” governor was to be blamed for that.
Walker called for Republicans to consolidate around alternatives to Trump when he dropped out last September, and on Wednesday he suggested in a local radio interview that he would back Cruz after Easter.
“It’s pivotal for all three candidates”, said Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, the former state chairman of the Wisconsin GOP. Heidi Cruz is an impressive, successful career woman and mother in her own right, and quite frankly the thing I like best about Ted Cruz is that he married such an accomplished and independent woman.
Heidi Cruz also denied the photo of Melania Trump came from the Cruz campaign. Ted Cruz came in a distant third in Virginia’s Republican primary election, receiving less than half the number of votes than billionaire businessman Donald Trump. Fox News said the name-calling is part of a “sick obsession” that “is beneath the dignity of a presidential candidate”. He’s also accused Trump of being behind the gossip.
Walker’s backing is sought fiercely by Kasich allies and would be a powerful validator with grass-roots activists who carried him to repeated wins in Wisconsin and with the state’s GOP elite.
In a written statement issued by his campaign, Trump said he had nothing to do with the story. But he’s so far behind in the hunt for delegates that he can’t win the nomination in the primary season. Polls show a close race between Trump and Cruz in the state.
Democrats are set to hold caucuses Saturday in Washington, Hawaii and Alaska.
Michael Schroeder, Cruz’s state political director, said it’s possible only a few thousand Republicans will show up in some heavily Democratic districts.

“I don’t make a habit out of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my family”, Cruz said.
