Donald Trump’s pastors meeting backfires
Trump said of the cancellation: “Probably some of the Black Lives Matter folks called them up and said, ‘Oh, you shouldn’t be meeting with Trump because he believes all lives matter, ‘” referring to the movement protesting against police brutality and the killing of unarmed African-Americans.

But it has been fact-checked to see if any evidence can be found to back up Trump’s claims. I really do. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt to see how the campaign unfolded.
That scheduling shift followed reports indicating that some of the pastors involved did not plan to endorse Trump.
“I am not officially endorsing ANY candidate and when I do you will NOT need to hear it from pulpitting courtjesters who suffer from intellectual and spiritual myopia”, he posted on Facebook. In Sarasota, people were telling me yesterday they used to live in New Jersey.
Political scientist John Sides has written several times about how the media have covered Trump far more extensively than other candidates, and demonstrated the close correlation between his poll numbers and his ratio of mentions in media stories.
When asked, neither Trump nor Scott would not say how many of those who attended had now chose to back his campaign.
In a phone interview on NBC’s Meet the Press, Trump said he was getting an “unbelievable response” from “hundreds” of people who told him they also saw televised Muslim celebrations of the September 11, 2001, attacks in Manhattan.
GOP frontrunner Donald Trump hastily canceled a press conference that was to be held on Monday at Trump Tower – originally billed as an endorsement event with more than a hundred African-American pastors from all over the country.
“We had a wonderful time in the meeting”, said Darrell Scott, the senior pastor of New Spirit Revival Center in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, who helped to organize the meeting.
“His experience in Congress and the committees that he’s worked on, his involvement with the budget, the depth of his understanding greatly exceeds especially a couple at the top (of Republican polls) who are garnering all the attention”, Betts said, referring to recent polling leaders Trump and Ben Carson.
Trump’s defense of this claim on Sunday’s “Meet the Press” was to repeat it and even shift the burden of proof off him and place it on his critics by commenting, “Why wouldn’t it have taken place?”
“You’re running for President of the United States. I’ll tell you, I have a very good memory”, Trump said on Sunday.
Trump came under fire last week for his comments about an altercation between his supporters and Black Lives Matter activists in Birmingham, Ala.
He also blamed the Black Lives Matter group – a group that he’s sparred with at rallies – for the controversy surrounding the religious leaders. “It did happen in New Jersey”, Trump said.
“Most Americans agree with Donald Trump – the illegal aliens have to go”.

Bush said Trump’s campaign strategy is to “dominate the news” and that the media was going along with it. “He knows what he’s saying”.
