Donald Trump’s Speech Draws Millions More Viewers than Clinton’s
PBS said its viewership for Clinton’s speech was 3.91 million people, and 2.75 million the week earlier for Trump.

Contrast this with how disorganized the RNC was, with one night ending early and with Trump himself calling into The O’Reilly Factor, and when a Benghazi victim’s mother was holding Clinton responsible for her son’s death.
Republican nominee Donald Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC) drew at least two million more viewers than Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
“We beat her by millions”, Trump said at a Friday afternoon rally.
Heading into Clinton’s final day in Philadelphia, the Trump campaign circulated a fundraising email urging supporters to avoid watching Clinton’s acceptance speech “unless you want to be lied to, belittled and attacked for your beliefs”.
Meanwhile, the network ratings rankings aren’t surprising: CNN (which yours truly as a former newspaper journalist watches since the network most adheres to classic journalism school standards) was in the lead, MSNBC second and Fox News third.
– Viewers watched the live streams for an average of 25 minutes.
The Young Turks were among the shows live streaming on YouTube during the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. MSNBC was #2 with 5.3 million viewers.
Live YouTube (GOOG, GOOGL) viewers of the Republican and Democratic conventions came in at 4.5M and 4.6M, respectively.
Monday night’s DNC speeches were seen by 26 million viewers across seven channels, versus 23 million for night one of the RNC. That 10 PM – 11:40 PM ET coverage is down 2.4 million from what Trump and the RNC got on the same outlets on July 21 from 10 – 11:45 PM ET. Notably, however, the DNC as a whole drew a significantly larger audience than the RNC – over four days, the DNC attracted a total of 116.7m viewers, while the RNC’s four days drew only 100.7m.
Thursday was the highest-rated night of the week for both parties, but Trump had bigger gains, giving him the bragging rights at the end of the convention period.
YouTube reported 200,000 simultaneous viewers who watched a live stream of Clinton’s speech on Thursday night.
C-SPAN is not rated.

Household ratings for the three broadcast networks that carried both speeches – NBC, ABC and CBS – were virtually identical on both Thursdays.
