Donald Trump Says Immigration Speech Coming Wednesday in Arizona

Trump, speaking on the Iowa State Fairgrounds, sought to clarify his views on how to overhaul the USA immigration system after saying earlier in the week that he was softening on his plan to deport all 11 million illegal immigrants.

But Trump’s struggled to do so even as they stayed tightly together on the details they know: Trump will issue more details on the immigration plan soon, the policy will be humane, and despite his clear wavering, he’s been “consistent” on the issue.

Trump vowed that if he takes office, he would immediately deport thousands of illegal immigrants with criminal records who are now residing in the US.

Native-born children of immigrants, even those living illegally in the US, have been automatically considered American citizens since the adoption of the 14th Amendment in 1868.

Such a move could help blunt criticism from figures like the head of the Democratic National Committee, who blasted Trump on Sunday for failing to reach out directly to black voters. But who Trump considers a criminal remained unclear Sunday.

“Give Donald Trump credit for at least trying to address a complex issue and not pretending like Hillary Clinton does, that we don’t have these problems”, she said.

“Look, you know, I go with the flow based on what the campaign wants to do”, Priebus told NBC’s Meet the Press.

Trump did not explain how his plan would affect undocumented residents who have been in the United States for decades and obeyed USA laws.

Todd, asking what was likely on the minds of most viewers, replied, “Let me pause right here: We don’t know?”

It’s really hard to tell where exactly the Trump campaign stands on immigration. Secondly, he is building that wall. The proposal echoed the language of Trump’s former primary rival, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who is now advising him.

Those are all pretty standard conservative policy points on immigration, which might reassure mainstream Republicans somewhat.

“I will be making a major speech on ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION on Wednesday in the GREAT State of Arizona. Big crowds, looking for a larger venue”, Trump tweeted.

Recent polls indicate Clinton is ahead in some of the most competitive and pivotal states.

The first presidential debate is set for September 26.

Mr Trump has also been criticised for apparently “flip-flopping” or toning down his policies on immigration in recent days – although the candidate himself has insisted that is not the case.

He has also said that he would not create a path to legal status or citizenship for illegal immigrants and that they would have to leave the country and return in a lawful way to achieve legal status.

Trump drew an online backlash Saturday for a tweet he sent in response to the shooting death of National Basketball Association star Dwyane Wade’s cousin, who was gunned down near the Chicago school where she had planned to register her children.

Pence defended Trump’s tweet about the Chicago shooting death of basketball star Dwyane Wade’s cousin, immediately linking that death to electoral concerns.
