His address comes hours before his national security acumen is tested at a “commander in chief” forum broadcast on NBC.
It was back to the future for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump who in delivering his national security speech often sounded more like Ronald Reagan than the outsider who spent much of his primary campaign railing against his party’s foreign policy elite. The forum is the only joint appearance scheduled before the first states begin early voting.
U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton speaks at a presidential candidates “Commander-in-Chief” forum, moderated by Matt Lauer aboard the decommissioned aircraft carrier “Intrepid” in New York, New York, on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
Meanwhile, a recent NBC News/Survey Monkey online poll shows Trump leading over Clinton by 19 points, 55 percent to 36 percent among those now in the military as well as veterans. The event will also air on NBC in its entirety at 8 p.m. PT and 9 p.m. MT.
Trump said during the forum that he was “totally against the war in Iraq”, because he anxious it would destabilize the Middle East.
“That will eliminate government waste and budget gimmicks and that protect hard-earned benefits”, Trump said.
“It is a great honour to have such incredible support from so many distinguished retired military leaders”, Trump said.
As CBS2’s Dick Brennan reported, a recent CNN poll showed Trump topping Clinton 45 to 43 percent among likely voters. “For this reason, we support Donald Trump’s candidacy to be our next Commander-in-Chief”, said the letter endorsing Trump. With an unwavering dedication, the Senator has abandoned his criticism of his former opponent, simply referring to her as imperfect, before turning to Trump and hitting him again and again for his bigotry. “She knows the sacrifices of families who have lost children”, said James A. Clark Jr. with the El Paso County Democrats.

Clinton’s numbers are better among general voters, with 46 percent saying they were either very or somewhat confident in Clinton’s ability as Commander-in-Chief compared to 13 percent who were not too confident and 39 percent who weren’t confident at all. Clinton will give her answers first, a coin toss determined. When is she going to release her emails? Clinton said the deal allows enough insight into Iran’s actions to ensure they’re following the rules.
