Donald Trump slams Clinton over “short-circuited” email answer

Clinton’s proclamation during the Wallace interview, that “Comey said my answers were truthful, and what I’ve said is consistent with what I have told the American people”, was rated by fact-checker site PolitiFact as a “Pants on Fire” lie. Over the past week, she cited Comey’s public comments from last month to demonstrate she was truthful about her private email use and had not put at risk classified information in the messages she sent and received.

“Now I have acknowledged repeatedly that using two email accounts was a mistake, and I take responsibility for that, but I do think having him say that my answers to the Federal Bureau of Investigation were truthful and then I should quickly add what I said was consistent with what I had said publicly, and sort of in my view, trying to tie both ends together”.

“And in questioning Director Comey made the point that the 3 e-mails out of the 30,000 did not have the appropriate markings and it was, therefore, reasonable to conclude that anyone, including myself, would have not suspected that they were classified”, she said.

THE FACTS: Comey has declined to say precisely what Clinton told FBI investigators, but he has never directly called Clinton’s comments truthful. I’d say this is crapola but I’m not even sure what she said.

Near the end of her report, the correspondent highlighted that “on trust, Clinton also getting a big boost – former CIA Director Mike Morell, who’s worked for Democrats and Republicans, endorsing her – saying, Donald Trump would be a ‘dangerous commander-in-chief'”. On Friday, after days of meetings with her handlers, Clinton backtracked, saying she “misspoke” on Fox News and in a subsequent interview with a Colorado television station several days later.

Much worse, though, was Clinton’s delivery as she tried to explain herself Friday.

“He is harkening back to the most shameful chapters of our history and appealing to the ugliest impulses of our society”, she said.

For weeks, the Hillary Clinton campaign has been using Donald Trump’s own words against him. We’ve got to build on the progress that we’ve made.

She seemingly shares this quality with her husband, former President Bill Clinton, who was accused of perjury during his presidency in 1998 concerning an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky and was subsequently impeached by the House of Representatives.

The Democratic nominee for president noted minorities were especially hurt by the financial crisis.

Clinton’s comments came hours after the USA government announced that the economy added 255,000 jobs in July – surpassing economists’ expectations – while the unemployment rate stayed at 4.9%. Also, Clinton would have been more honest. “It’s an economy enjoyed by her donors and special interests, and one suffered through every day by millions of Americans”.

Questioned about why a majority of voters don’t trust her, Clinton referred to her high approval ratings when she was secretary of state and a senator from NY. After giving her remarks, she made a decision to do the unthinkable: answer a few questions from reporters.

Clinton repeatedly said she did not have any classified information whatsoever in her email, marked or unmarked.

Clinton mistake is trying to use Comey’s testimony as a testimonial. The growing frustration among reporters and the criticism about the lack of accessibility has irked some Clinton’s campaign officials. But she again repeated that Comey said her statements were truthful – when, in fact, he directly contradicted some of what she has said about her e-mails – at least, what she said in public.

What resulted Friday were still more mischaracterizations.
