Donald Trump slams Megyn Kelly on Twitter over Rosie O’Donnell comments

Despite Thursday night’s debate having solidified Donald Trump’s standing as a GOP frontrunner, he’s not backing off of a feud with Fox News host and debate moderator Megyn Kelly, who he calls a “lightweight” who is “highly overrated”.

“This is just another example of weakness through being politically correct”, Trump’s campaign said in statement Saturday. “Blame Erick Erickson, your weak and pathetic leader”.

“There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her whatever.”

Erickson said he initially approached Trump’s campaign about the Kelly statement and that “they wouldn’t deny” it was a reference to menstruation.

Kelly asked Trump Thursday night about his treatment of women, citing comments that he allegedly made about various women being “fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals”. “Blood coming out of her wherever”, Trump recalled of Kelly during the debate, in what was widely interpreted as a sexist attack against her. The post was later deleted, but on Friday evening Trump called Kelly a “lightweight”.

He added that Trump needs to accept that major presidential candidates face tough questions.

“I just don’t respect her as a journalist”, he said. “We have to all get back to work and stop wasting time and energy on nonsense!” he tweeted.

“Only a deviant would think anything else”, said the message, which also gloated about how Trump “made Megyn Kelly look really bad – she was a mess with her anger”.

Trump was to have spoken at the event’s end-of-the-session barbecue on Saturday night; Erickson said he has now invited a replacement speaker: Megyn Kelly.

In some of the emails, according to Erickson, the writers used a racial epithet to refer to President Barack Obama and made other inflammatory comments. “I don’t even know if she’s going to be the candidate necessarily”.

“It’s important for our country to have this discussion about executive experience”, Perry said, knocking President Barack Obama as “an inexperienced senator” who has “driven this country into a ditch”.

On Twitter, she wrote: “I stand with @megynkelly” and “Mr. Trump: There. Is”.

“His comment was inappropriate”, Erickson said.

“Mr. Trump is touching a nerve”, said Ohio Governor John Kasich, “because people want the wall to be built”.

The first GOP presidential candidate debate was loaded with ridiculous, cringeworthy moments, but probably the most painful was when Donald Trump insulted Rosie O’Donnell.

Friday, he told Willie Geist of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”, “I just don’t think it’s very professional”.
