Donald Trump staff writer takes responsibility for Melania speech controversy

Michelle Obama, a Harvard-educated lawyer, has high approval ratings across the country and in Melania’s home city has been embraced in NY fashion circles for her sense of style and elegance. “No harm was meant”. The sixth excuse, which came Wednesday afternoon from a little-known Trump Organization staffer, was an admission of guilt and an apology in what can only be described as the opposite of the Trump campaign style. Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign chairman, told CNN “there is no cribbing of Michelle Obama’s speech” and that “to think that she was cribbing Michelle Obama’s words is insane”.

The divide has spilled over into the convention, which has been dominated by a thwarted attempt to block Trump’s nomination and as well as Melania Trump’s speech.

Saying Mr Trump rejected her offer of resignation, she wrote: “Mr Trump told me people make innocent mistakes and that we learn and grow from these experiences”. He called the allegations of plagiarism “just really absurd”, instead blaming Hillary Clinton and the media for manufacturing a controversy. It was from Meredith McIver, who cowrote, Trump: How to Get Rich and Trump 101: The Way to Success with the candidate.

“I apologise for the confusion and hysteria my mistake has caused”. Today, more than ever, I am honored to work for such a great family.

Away from the chaotic fallout of the speech, the Republican Party’s reconciliation efforts to patch up internal divisions and unify the party for the four-month national election campaign against Mrs Clinton continued.

The governor, a dropout in the GOP presidential race who ended up on the short list for Trump’s running mate, energized the hall as he ticked through numerous accusations of wrongdoing against Clinton and implored delegates to shout “guilty”.

On Saturday in NY, at an event ostensibly created to introduce his vice presidential nominee to the nation, the real estate mogul talked for 28 minutes in rambling remarks that – brace yourself for this bit of shocking news – at times tended to focus more on Trump himself.

Trump, officially nominated by the GOP on Tuesday night, formally accepts the nomination Thursday night. He didn’t even mention him by name.

“It was spectacular to me, I don’t know what others thought”, said Dianne Putnam, a Trump delegate from Dalton, Ga.

Trump managed again to upstage the Texas senator at his own “thank you” event. Cruz’s grimace at the boos turned to a full-blown smile.

By the time this convention concludes, there won’t be too many Trumps you haven’t heard from.

Melania Trump’s remarks were the first of several planned family testimonials aimed at recasting the celebrity showman as a serious-minded family man.

Pence is heartily on board the Trump bandwagon; Cruz isn’t yet, nor are many of his supporters in Cleveland. “That’s how it goes”, said Eric Stahlfeld from Washington state.
