Donald Trump targets John Kasich in attack ad
Alex Conant told The Associated Press Friday that the only way to stop Trump from sweeping next week’s basket of winner-take-all contests is to vote for Kasich in OH and Rubio in Florida.

While only Mr Kasich can take on Mr Trump in Ohio, “Marco is the only guy who can beat him in Florida”, Mr Conant said.
Marco Rubio, R-Fla., left, Donald Trump, Sen.
Polls, and the candidates’ travel schedules, suggested that Kasich’s chances in OH may be better than Rubio’s in Florida.
If you didn’t suspect the Republican establishment is panicked by the prospect of Donald Trump as the party’s presidential nominee, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus acknowledged the GOP’s turmoil just before Thursday night’s presidential debate at the University of Miami. He added, of course, that the best chance to stop Trump in Florida would be by voting for Rubio.
“Trump alternately scares and horrifies me”, said Bryan Marra, a 39-year-old attorney who was running as a delegate for Rubio.
Washington (CNN)Florida Sen. Marco Rubio said Saturday that he still plans to support the Republican nominee, but it’s “getting harder every day”.
“I don’t know where Cuba is going to sue, but if they sue us in a court in Miami, they’re going to lose”, he said to laughter and applause.
The Florida senator, the son of Cuban migrants, is seeking to win the Florida primary on Tuesday and thus rescue his flagging campaign for the White House.
“I understand why people are backing Trump”, Cruz says.
The RealClearPolitics average of polls shows Trump with a 39.9 percent to 25.2 percent lead over Rubio in Florida.
But Trump on Friday softened his tone, a shift that was apparent on stage at the previous night’s debate: “I can’t believe how civil it’s been up here”, Trump declared at one point in Thursday’s face-off of the GOP’s final four. Both are very far behind in the overall delegate count, with 151 delegates and 54 delegates, respectively.
Almost a thousand supporters watched GOP presidential candidate U.S. Sen.
Trump and his three opponents quickly plunged into a discussion of trade that found them largely in agreement on a need to crack down on trade deals that tip the scales against US workers without slamming the door on global markets. If I were Rubio, I’d start preparing a campaign for Governor of Florida in 2018.
Mr Trump, though, clearly was intent on projecting a less bombastic – and more presidential – image. Calling Kasich a loser in MI, where he came in third place behind the victor Trump and second-place candidate Ted Cruz despite his heavily targeting of the state with a regional Rust Belt appeal, seems to be purposeful slam.
“I think I’m going to have the delegates, OK?” “That’s why OH has added more than 400,000 jobs since John Kasich became governor”.
At one point in the debate, the candidates were asked what they would do if none of them had the 1,237 delegates needed for a first ballot nomination.

Indeed, though both Rubio and Kasich’s campaigns are in terrible positions right now, Rubio appears worse off despite his bigger delegate lead. “The problem is, presidents can’t just say what they want”.
