It’s possible that Trump’s move-or Cruz’s, for that matter-will alienate some folks in their core constituencies, or perhaps some of the general electorate, but both men are performing exactly the roles they’ve had throughout this race.

But there’s another group, who admittedly make odd bedfellows with progressive feminists, who might be turned off by the exchange of jabs about Melania and Heidi-on a taste level, if not on a level of sexual politics: cultural conservatives, the kind of religious voters who attend church regularly, don’t want Trump to be president, and don’t want to see a picture of a naked woman in their Facebook feeds.
The Democratic front-runner, Hillary Clinton, did worse than Cruz but better than Trump, with 36 percent of women polled saying they had a “very unfavorable” view of her. The poll had a credibility interval of 2 percentage points.
And if you think this is just about two middle aged guys bickering about their ladies, check out the Twitter responses to the whole squabble – the gleeful “HEIDI = OWNED” and, conversely, “Hey classless Trump why does your immigrant wife look like a grey alien?” And neither Trump nor Cruz seem to particularly care about winning those particular hearts.
Heidi Cruz also denied the photo of Melania Trump came from the Cruz campaign.
U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham and Carly Fiorina, who had sought the nomination, have also endorsed Cruz while Trump has won the backing of former candidates Chris Christie and Dr. Ben Carson. “You should be ashamed for spreading this kind of smut”, she said.
Trump said the Enquirer story didn’t come from him. Cruz said Stone has “50 years of dirty tricks behind him” and is the only person quoted on the record in the story.
Cruz was asked Friday whether the tone of the presidential campaign had become childish.
“Senator Cruz is the only one who’s got a chance, other than Donald Trump, to win the nomination”.
Cruz in recent weeks has accused Trump of underhanded tactics, inciting violence at his campaign rallies and disrespecting voters.

On Friday, however, Cruz went the furthest he has so far in suggesting he might be reconsidering the pledge. “Lots of coded words in here, small, petty, pink, this gender debate, you can say it doesn’t hurt or help, I think it will be a long time before we can tell the actual affect among female voters about debates like this”.
Politico reports that the Club for Growth Action, the group’s super PAC, reported a spike in fundraising in February, as it rolled out negative ads against GOP front-runner Donald Trump.
