On his plans to defeat ISIS, Trump said the generals under Obama and Clinton have not been successful.
Citing an article written by former director of the National Counter-terrorism Centre Matt Olsen, Clinton said the security expert draws from various sources in the article to suggest that ISIS leaders are “essentially throwing whatever support they have to Donald Trump”.
“Every Republican holding or seeking office in this country should be asked if they agree with Donald Trump about these statements”, Clinton said in a morning news conference at Westchester County Airport in White Plains.
Trump suggested at the event in which he and Democratic rival Hillary Clinton made back-to-back appearances that USA generals had been stymied by the policies of Obama and Clinton, who served as the Democratic president’s first secretary of state.
Mr Trump said he felt he could get along with Mr Putin, and was glad to have received a compliment from him.
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, with “Today” show co-anchor Matt Lauer, left, speaks at the NBC Commander-In-Chief Forum held at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space museum aboard the decommissioned aircraft carrier Intrepid, New York, Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016. “I think what he said was totally inappropriate”.
Trump on military generals: “I think under the leadership of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, the generals have been reduced to rubble”. And the Wisconsin Republican says when you do that prematurely, you’re likely to lose anyway. She called for an “intelligence surge”, but pledged that there would be no ground troops in Syria or in Iraq “ever again”. Trump, a billionaire real-estate developer, said Putin has an “82 percent approval rating” in polls of Russians but the candidate didn’t elaborate.
“He’s been a leader, far more than our president has been a leader”, Trump said.
Lauer brought up a previous statement Trump had made that he knew “more about ISIS than the generals do”.
Trump said he had “great judgment”, adding, “I know what’s going on, I have called numerous shots”.
In the interview, she vows to defeat the militant group and adds, “I don’t want them to feel as if they can be getting more recruits because of our politics”.
“We lose it, like as an example, you look at Iraq, what happened, how badly that was handled”.
“I have great faith in the military”, he continued. “I’m not sure anything surprises us anymore, but I was certainly disappointed that someone running for president of the United States would continue this unseemly identification with and praise of the Russian president, including on Russian television”.
“The gentleman who stood up and said honestly, ‘You should be imprisoned for what you did.’ That was the tough one”, Trump said.

“It’s just one more massive failure from a failed secretary of state”, Trump said.
