Donald Trump Thinks He Can Win Over Disaffected Bernie Sanders Supporters
US Republican presidential candidates, particularly Donald Trump, fear Bernie Sanders the most as their possible Democratic challenger, but Sanders is not revolutionary given his support for American wars of aggression, an American political analyst and activist says.

Sen. Bernie Sanders will lay off hundreds of staffers across the country the same day he declared he is “in this campaign to win”. Ted Cruz. Ohio Gov. John Kasich came in third.
That’s how Donald Trump often describes Hillary Clinton – potential rivals in the November election for president.
US Representative Renee Ellmers, a Republican, said she believed Trump could overcome his unpopularity with women voters with his straight talk: “To me, this is breaking all the rules, this is going against any of the typical history books and elections of the past. And frankly, if Hillary Clinton were a man I don’t think she’d get 5% of the vote”.
Sanders is now looking to pick up victories in next week’s primary in IN, as well as contests in OR and California. The real estate mogul now has 77 percent of the delegates he needs. Trump’s problem looks even more dire when broken down by the subsets women that are typically in play or can depended on by Republicans.
US Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders speaks at a campaign event at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana April 27, 2016. Some analysts saw hints in Trump’s foreign policy speech this week that he would take a reasoned approach in office, his out-there instincts curbed by the realities of government, and some thought relations with China and Arabs might improve. In many states, millennial women have supported Sanders more, while older women, along with black women, have tended to support Clinton. And for the first time, you know, I do think it’s going to be very hard for a lot of the people who support Sanders to support Hillary Clinton.
Trump’s victories came in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
Trump won the Pennsylvania primary Tuesday by more than 35 percentage points over Texas Sen. “Listen, I would make a very explicit outreach to the people of IN who are supporting John Kasich if you don’t want to see Hillary Clinton as president, if you don’t want to see Donald Trump as the nominee which makes certain Hillary Clinton is the president, then I ask for your support”.
Cruz and Kasich are mathematically eliminated from clinching the nomination before the party’s national convention this summer.
In the days before the election, both the Trump and Cruz campaigns distributed delegate slates to supporters, knowing that the preferences of the hopefuls – even if they had been made public – would not appear on the ballot.
But that effort did little to stop Trump from a big showing in the Northeast, where he picked up at least 109 of the 118 delegates up for grabs. Boehner said he and Donald Trump are “texting buddies” and he would vote for Trump, but not Cruz. According to the AP count, Clinton now has 2,151 delegates while Sanders has 1,338.
Sanders hopes to score a victory in next week’s in primary and is looking ahead to upcoming contests in OR and California but he remains about 300 pledged delegates behind Clinton.
Seven delegates have remained uncommitted, primarily those in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia congressional districts.
