Donald Trump throws pity party for Jeb Bush after GOP debate

In an interview after the debate, Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said nothing had changed between Trump calling Cruz a “maniac” and the debate, adding that the two candidates have had a “great relationship for a long time”.

Republican frontrunner Donald Trump has won the fifth presidential debate in Las Vegas.

He has dominated the campaign with his call for a total ban on Muslims entering the United States, following a married couple’s December 2 massacre of 14 people in San Bernardino, California, inspired by Islamic State. With the candidates jousting over government surveillance, military intervention and the aims of American foreign policy, the national security- and worldwide affairs-themed debate was among the most substantive of the 2016 cycle. Trump reluctantly agreed to debate after CNN said it wouldn’t pay.

“The USA Freedom Act has not made us less safe at all, and in fact, I had a discussion last week with FBI Director James Comey”, he continued.

Ted Cruz, the Texas Senator, was looking to make up for lost time and had some exchanges with Marco Rubio.

During the Tuesday night debate, Cruz noted that the NSA’s old program allowed the agency to check only 20% to 30% of phone numbers for terror ties, but that the new program reportedly encompasses almost 100% of phone numbers.

“Donald, you’re never going to be able to insult your way to the presidency”, Bush said at one point. I asked about the back and forth, and they said there’s too much of that.

Trump complained about how he’s being treated, to which Bush responded, “If you think this is tough the way you’re being treated…this is a tough business”. Well, Rubio says it was an important tool for investigators.

Moderated by Wolf Blitzer, Tuesday night’s CNN GOP debate was the third most watched debate in televised debate history, according to Nielsen ratings.

‘I don’t like doing it, I don’t like saying bad things about him, ‘ Trump told Bill O’Reilly in an interview that will be airing tonight. “He was fighting to grant amnesty and not to secure the border”, said Ted Cruz, (R) Presidential Candidate.

“I really don’t want Jeb’s endorsement, because he is a low-energy person and he does not represent strength, power and stamina, which are qualities our country desperately needs”, Trump said in a statement to The Washington Post. “You need the capability to do it with, and we’re losing that capability”. “We’ve got to search all sorts of media outlets to see if anybody had reported that number independently”.
