Donald Trump tightens grip on US Republican nomination
Her sweeping victory in the NY primary called into question the durability of Bernie Sanders’ rival campaign and left him with severely limited options for overtaking her.

Trump, the Manhattan billionaire, focused his NY efforts on massive rallies around the state, particularly across upstate.
Donald Trump, with a win in his home state, could sweep all 95 delegates of NY and win the GOP nomination without having to go through a contest in July. “I’m not running for anybody’s Vice President, man I’m gonna be the nominee”, said John Kasich, (R) Presidential Candidate. He remains the preferred candidate for many Republican primary voters.
Trump also said Thursday he agreed with Sanders on another dig the Vermont senator made at Clinton: that she does not have the judgment to be president. Bernie Sanders argued earlier this month that Clinton is not qualified, though he later backed off those remarks.
“Sanders may actually win some of those states by 65-70 percent”, DeBar predicted.
On the other hand, Kasich, who has only 148 delegates, despite doing better than Cruz in NY, would need 1,048 delegates to win the nomination.
As of now, Clinton leads Sanders among superdelegates who’ve publicly stated their preference, 502 to 38, according to an Associated Press tally.
Robby Mook, Clinton’s campaign manager, dismissed the idea that Sanders could end victorious in an interview with Yahoo, saying his “numbers are pretty daunting”.
Trump remains unpopular with the Republican leaders and activists who select and serve as delegates, whereas Cruz has invested time and money courting them. In a victory speech in the lobby of Trump Tower, Trump said Cruz was “just about mathematically eliminated”. “We have very good relationships with the party structure, leadership in the state, and we’re supported by the four former Republican governors in Pennsylvania and we have very good leadership in the state”.
Donald Trump thinks Hillary Clinton won’t be indicted over the email controversy the Federal Bureau of Investigation is probing.
Republican presidential candidate John Kasich holds a packed campaign town hall meeting in the ballroom at a Crowne Plaza hotel April 19, 2016 in Annapolis, MD. Ted Cruz said no GOP contender will be able to capture the nomination outright during the primary process, paving the way for a convention battle.

Now here is where Pennsylvania is significantly different than other states in awarding delegates: The second part of Pennsylvania’s primary is the vote for the remaining 54 delegates.
