Donald Trump to appear on Stephen Colbert’s show
According to a CBS News report, that is a 206 percent increase over the same night in 2015, when The Late Show featured long-time host David Letterman at the helm.

Anyway, because of the length of the show – we’re guessing? – when Colbert’s crew sent the show over to the network, “the computers kept crashing”, he said.
The new host and the all-encompassing comedian has been making waves all over the Internet since Letterman last aired his finale show on May 20 of this year.
Tuesday’s premiere showed that Colbert re-created the wall in the CBS studio – complete with the Captain America shield and a pennant his mother got when she attended Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963.
Colbert added that he still doesn’t know what the problem was, but he told viewers watching Wednesday night’s show on CBS, “if you’re seeing this at home right now, it means we fixed it”.
It was only a matter of time: Donald Trump has accepted Stephen Colbert’s invitation to appear on The Late Show.
“I nearly had a heart attack last night”, he confessed. So I think we all win. Fans have been enjoying the new show and ratings have been solid, bringing in 6.6 million viewers but falling short of The Tonight Show’s pilot episode previous year, as we previously reported.
“After all that we might not go on the air”, he said.

Although Colbert’s numbers were considerably lower than Fallon’s debut, his online streaming numbers were by far higher and the most social for a show on television Tuesday, according to Nielsen. “And if we don’t, it will still be a very interesting story at the theater camp I will be running in Idaho”. Time called the episode an “assured, traditional beginning” to Colbert’s tenure on the show, and The A.V. Club broke out a musical metaphor: “Tonight, Stephen Colbert picked his instrument back up, and with it he made a joyful sound”.
