Donald Trump to Megyn Kelly: I’m sorry not sorry

I caught Dr. Phil on TV one day, who said the only difference between you and someone you envy is that you settled for less. “We’re really the only thing that stands between them and the Oval Office, so we have to ask tough questions, which, in my own view, doesn’t make us fair game for, you know, a year of personal insults”. “Do whatever you have to do”.

“It’s been a long nine months”, Kelly said, kicking off the conversation, to which her guest responded, “It has been a long time, I agree”.

Throughout the 2016 campaign, Kelly has been a frequent target for the presumptive Republican presidential candidate, often the subject of his critical tweets and sharp rhetoric.

“If I don’t win”, he responded, “I will consider it to be a total and complete waste of time, energy and money”. This led to Trump engaging in a war of words with Kelly, much of it on social media, including the infamous “There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever” remark.

The interview comes as Trump has effectively wrapped up the Republican presidential nomination and is turning his attention toward an expected general election battle against Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

An unnamed writer called Trump to commend him on what he’s accomplished thus far.

In the final segment of the special, Kelly asked Trump some “rapid-fire questions”, including inquiries about his favourite book (All Quiet on the Western Front) and movie (Citizen Kane).

“The meeting was at my request and Mr. Trump was gracious enough to agree to it”, she said.

During the Fox-hosted debate, Kelly took Trump to task on his comments, listing the terms he has used for women in the past. But I will say – I’ve watch the interview back now – several times, and even having done it, I find it riveting.

Kelly then asked Trump if that sounded like the “temperament of a man we should elect as president?”

Trump had pledged to live-tweet the taped interview Tuesday night but instead largely engaged with followers who praised the show, all while insisting the interview “was not soft at all!”

Speaking with Kelly, Trump suggested the August debate actually helped prepare him for the battle ahead. Now let us all see how “THE MOVEMENT” does in OR tonight! Ted Cruz’s wife, Heidi, alongside his supermodel wife, Melania, as a snarky comparison of beauty, and said: “I wish I didn’t do it”.
