A first Republican lawmaker has emerged to declare his intention to vote for Hillary Clinton, against his party’s own nominee whom he calls a shameless and hate-pandering narcissist unfit to lead the U.S.

“Donald Trump’s demagoguery has undermined the fabric of our national character”, Whitman, president and CEO of Hewlett-Packard, said in a statement.
Hanna said that Trump is “unfit to serve our party and can not lead this country”.
Ryan and Republican Senate Majority Leader McConnell have offered support to the Khans, but no Republican leaders have withdrawn their support for Trump as the party’s presidential pick.
“This would be the end of any other Republican candidate in the history of the country”.
Others have remained quiet: Romney and the two past president Bushes have not endorsed Trump or Clinton.
It’s highly unusual to make the case for a candidate by using the words of the opposing party’s previous nominee.
He also denounced Mr Trump’s attacks on the Khans.
A number of notable Republicans, including former presidential candidates Gov. John Kasich of OH and Sens.
The site, run by statistician Nate Silver, gave Trump a 58 percent chance of winning the general election just last week, following the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. She said she is still too grief-stricken by her son’s death.
Wisconsin businessman Paul Nehlen, who is challenging Ryan in next week’s primary in Wisconsin, had posted material on his campaign website accusing Ryan of misrepresenting Trump’s proposed temporary ban on Muslims entering the country and defending him in the dispute with the Khans.
“But Donald is out of control right now and he’s not listening to anyone”.
Rep. Richard Hanna becomes first congressional Republican to say he will vote for Hillary Clinton on Tuesday.
Republican Donald Trump has insisted that his White House campaign is unified, even as he faced a backlash from some in his party over his criticism of the family of a dead American soldier.
Hanna, who had previously said he could never support Trump, wrote that he made a decision to vote for Clinton after Trump attacked Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the Muslim parents of a slain American soldier.
However, former Republican congressman John LeBoutillier told the BBC’s Newsday programme he believed many Republican politicians would back Mrs Clinton.
“I like Paul, but these are awful times for our country”, Trump said. That may have further boosted Trump over Clinton.
Mr Trump drew further ire from veterans’ groups on Tuesday for his response when he was handed a Purple Heart – a medal given to wounded members of the USA military – at campaign rally in Virginia.

“I always wanted to get the Purple Heart”, he said.
