Donald Trump will visit Mexico-Texas border Thursday

Trump has made immigration one of his main issues in his early campaign, railing against the government of Mexico and other countries sending “rapists” and “murderers” into the United States.

The Republican 2016 presidential candidate will tour the U.S.-Mexican border in Laredo, Texas on Thursday afternoon, with the media in tow.

The plan signalled no backing down – indeed, a possible further escalation – in Trump’s feud with presidential rivals and other figures in the party.

A new New York Times article illustrates the long simmering feud between Trump and conservative media mogul Rupert Murdoch, whom the Times reports “is no fan of Donald J”.

The billionaire’s mother Mary Anne MacLeod hails from Stornoway, with his Scottish ties inspiring him to invest in the iconic Turnberry estate and the Trump worldwide Golf Links course in Aberdeen. John McCain over the weekend and said that the Vietnam veteran was only “a war hero ’cause he was captured,” Graham came to the defense of his fellow senator.

The back-and-forth is the latest chapter in an ongoing feud between Trump and those who criticize him.

Trump has said this will be his fourth visit to the border.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz was invited to the border last month. “The guy’s got zero in the polls, he’s got nothing going anyway”, Trump scoffed.

“I wish Donald Trump would have taken this to the hilt”, said Ardith Forrest, 76, a retiree from Morris, Georgia.

Since then, Trump has faced strong backlash from both liberals and conservatives alike for his comments, which many deemed offensive.

Garza said the invitation did not imply an endorsement, as the National Border Patrol Council, which is the agency’s union, frequently invites politicians to visit.

What Trump should have said concerning illegal Mexican immigrants, is that some of them are the scum of the earth and some are not.
