Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has won his third straight contest, as Trump has been projected as the victor of Tuesday’s Republican caucuses.

“Every time I see him it’s hard for me to turn down money because that’s not what I’ve done my whole life”, Trump said.

“Winning, winning, winning”: “Now we’re winning, winning, winning”, Trump proclaimed in his victory speech at the Treasure Island hotel in Las Vegas. “We’re going to win OH”.

Donald Trump inched closer to the Republican presidential nomination as his odds shot to a record high on global betting websites on Wednesday and he won his first endorsement from a member of Congress.

Speaking with his supporters in Las Vegas, Cruz said he is the only “consistent conservative” candidate left who can beat Trump. We might not even need the two months, folks to be honest.

Going by the outcomes in four states that have voted, Mr. Trump’s support is now is geographically and demographically spread across the U.S. He came a close second in Iowa in the middle, came first in New Hampshire in the northeast, SC in the southeast and Nevada in the west. Opinion polls tend to confirm Mr Trump’s claims that he has been winning among all sections.

Cruz had a hard week ahead of the caucus, losing the evangelical vote to Trump in SC and facing accusations that his campaign plays dirty tricks on his opponents. Among voters 65 and over, who made up a third of Nevada Republican caucus-goers, Trump more than doubled Rubio’s support, winning 51 percent to 25 percent.

“They’re now all starting to consolidate across the spectrum in this party, with the understanding that if we don’t come together we’re never going to be able to provide a clear alternative to the direction that Donald Trump wants to take the Republican party and the country”, Rubio said.

Broadcast networks called the state for Trump nearly immediately after voting ended, with the state Republican Party confirming the victory soon after.

At the very beginning of his speech, Trump thanked his “great friend” and businessman Steve Wynn, who Trump said gives him campaign advice. Cruz said Super Tuesday is the “most important night” of the race for him – it is when his home state of Texas votes.

It appears to be a re-run of SC with Trump winning decisively and Rubio and Cruz fighting it out for second place with Cruz having a one point edge as of this writing (23% to 22%). Overall, Trump has 81 delegates so far, and Cruz and Rubio have 17 apiece.

Meanwhile, Cruz parachuted into Nevada and immediately tied his campaign to two red-hot local ideological conflicts: the perennial battle over federal land policies (smartly identifying Trump with the highly unpopular cause of eminent-domain “seizures” of private property) and a tax increase being proposed by Sandoval that Nevada conservatives were fighting. Winning one or more of them is possible. Higher-than-normal turnout was reported, although historically, few of the state’s citizens participate in the Republican caucus.
