Donald Who? New York GOP Leaders Won’t Comment

According to an Associated Press count, Trump has 743 delegates, Cruz has 532 and Ohio Gov. John Kasich has 143.

Clinton’s campaign believes Trump’s sky-high unfavorable ratings could offset some questions voters have about her own character, and perhaps even give her a chance to peel off some Republicans who can’t stomach a vote for the real estate mogul.

While Trump lost Wisconsin’s primary Tuesday to Cruz, he still leads the delegate race.

The rules committee seats have become highly coveted prizes for their role in shaping a contested convention in Cleveland. While the Republican establishment has put its force behind Cruz in recent primaries, it may support Kasich in the Northeast, where the fact that there are fewer evangelical voters could help the OH governor.

Trump announced that he has assigned all functions related to the nomination process to veteran political operative Paul Manafort, who was hired to manage the process of corralling delegates who will pick the nominee. There is also a concerted effort by some to make sure those pledging a delegate for Trump, Cruz and Kasich are actually supporters of those candidates.

So far, polls show Trump taking the state by a significant margin.

That is a 40-point swing from Trump to Cruz, with Kasich being pretty much smack in the middle (but slightly closer to Trump).

Others on the Trump slate are listed on the ballot as “uncommitted”, rather than supporting Trump. “The people want Donald Trump”. Trump claimed 27 per cent.
