The Republic of Ireland international’s move brings to an end his four-year spell at Vitality Stadium.

However, United did complete a deal for Republic of Ireland global midfielder O’Kane for an undisclosed fee from AFC Bournemouth.

He joins Leeds with the club in 21st place in the Championship table, and manager Garry Monk will be hoping that the 26-year-old can guide his side to the top-flight either this season or next.

The 26-year-old Republic of Ireland global has agreed a two-year deal at Elland Road to become the Sky Bet Championship side’s 11th summer signing.

He made just 16 appearances for the club last season.

But, for Martin O’Neill, first-team chances for O’Kane at club level represent nothing but a good thing.
