Donors Sought For Blood Drive In Southfield Today
The demand for the most-needed types is beginning to outpace donations. “We’re now asking donors who haven’t donated, and those who are eligible again, to make an appointment to give now to help ensure blood products are available for patients”. Plasma from type AB and O negative donors can be transfused to patients of any blood type.

“The Red Cross calls on the people of the state to develop the habit of voluntary blood donation as a way of life to enable the state and the country to meet the requirements of safe blood transfusion services.”
Blood donations help those suffering from sickle-cell anemia, cancer and heart disease.
Platelet donors and those with type AB blood are also continually needed to help ensure patients receive the lifesaving blood products they need. Type AB blood can be given to patients of all blood types. Her need alone could add up to 1,100 units.
The Red Cross and Sport Clips Haircuts are teaming up to offer a free haircut coupon to those who come out to donate blood or platelets in September.
The blood drive runs until 1:45 p.m.in the Southfield Pavilion, located on Evergreen Road at 10½ Mile Road.
