Doom’s six multiplayer modes revealed in trailer
It’s fast, super-violent and has its fair share of awesome modes, as the newest trailer showcases. What are your thoughts on the multiplayer modes? All pick-ups are removed from the map, and players won’t be able to restore their health or armor, no demon runes and no respawning.

The last team standing wins.
While these multiplayer styles look and sound great, with Bethesda making a point to mention that these will be the 6 modes “available at launch”, it’s safe to presume that more will be included in the long run with future DLC.
Points are gained by whichever team controls the capture point. Demon runes will spawn periodically, in random locations on each map, giving teams a chance to regain lost ground or cement their lead. The second game mode has players freezing their enemies and thawing their allies in a deadly game of Freeze Tag. The thawing process begins when a non-frozen player stands near one encapsulated in ice, with speed boosts for those who thaw multiple players at once, or when a frozen player is pushed into an environmental hazard. And, of course, the action found within the first-person shooter wouldn’t be complete without its trademark display of over-the-top guts and gore.
Soul Harvest is a variant on the traditional Team Deathmatch game.
Soul Harvest – Kill enemies to harvest souls. The catch? Only the opposing team earns points for grabbing a soul – but the teammates of the vanquished can play spoiler by seizing an ally’s soul to prevent their foes from gaining a soul point. Victory is awarded to the first team to reach a predetermined score or whichever squad has more points when time expires. This mode also features a demon tune that gives a demon power-up with no time limit: kills from players with that power-up leave behind two souls. Whoever is killed by the demon leaves two souls in their wake, but killing the demon itself results in a hellish piñata of five souls. This means that players must decide how to proceed: either going after the capture point or the demon rune, while avoiding other players’ attacks.
Warpath: This is the Doom version of King of the Hill, but a lot crazier. In Warpath there’s a single capture point moves around the map along a set path. In addition to the moving capture point, a demon rune moves along a similar path on the opposite side of the path. Let us know in the comments.
Doom releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 13.
