Bethesda has just dropped a whole bunch of DOOM news, revealing that tomorrow will see the release of the free Update 2, while a Double XP weekend will also be getting underway from 29th July at 5pm BST until 1st August at 5pm BST in DOOM Multiplayer. “If you haven’t purchased the premium DLC and a map comes up that you don’t have, but you’re now in a party with another player who has purchased the DLC, you’ll be allowed to continue playing”. If you’re in a party with a friend who owns it, thanks to PartyPlay, you will also have access. “Conversely, if you have purchased a premium DLC pack, anyone in your party can play any of the maps from the DLC as long as they’re with you”. The add-on will cost $14.99/€14.99/£11.99 and all the new content will be usable in all existing maps and modes. That consists in part of new maps, something that could be problematic for the game’s player base, but developer id Software has a plan to avoid that.
