“He ended up sitting right next to me”.
‘I later checked into my hotel in Galway to find my doppelganger checking into the same hotel ahead of me.
“I’m down here until Monday”. The men’s resemblance and the story of their meeting obviously was a touch of fun the internet needed last night as the photo of the “twin’ strangers on the plane was retweeted thousands of times”.
Rob added: “It turned out that we were staying at the same hotel, and we saw him in a few pubs that night”.
Irish student Ciara Murphy and Cordelia Roberts, from the United Kingdom, met in Bremen in Germany and snapped a selfie which quickly went viral on Facebook.
Mr Stirling, who said he was enjoying a quiet trip away, added that he had not bumped into Mr Douglas since. “There is a bit of Scottish ancestry in my family, hence the last name, but it goes way back”.
Lee Beattie tweeted the picture, saying the man on the right was her friend’s husband.
She added later: ‘I can’t stop looking at it. They are the same man’. Douglas proceeded to ask the gentleman to move and when the fellow looked up, Douglas was stunned to discover, that guys was himself… or, at least someone who looked a lot like him.
Twitter exploded with comments from amused users, who dubbed the pair “identical twins”.
To which Nathan replied: “You’re the third person to say this!”
