After a 47-year absence, Doris Day might be heading back to the big screen in a new film directed by Clint Eastwood.

The Guardian reports that Clint Eastwood is trying to lure Doris Day out of retirement for a role in one of his forthcoming films.
However, Day’s spokesperson Charley Walter’s has denied the story, telling Deadline, “While Doris always appreciates hearing from her fans; the rumors about her returning to the big screen are not true”. However, she is said to be open to working with Eastwood on the project, of which nothing is known at this time.
A few weeks ago, an article in a German tabloid suggested that Eastwood had given Day a script and that she was planning to revive her movie career. She has allegedly made two demands: the film must be shot in Carmel and a cut of the profits must go to her animal welfare charity. Next up for the director, he has an adaptation of Captain Chesley Sullenberger’s heroic piloting tale with Tom Hanks in talks to play the lead role.
Day’s other films include Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Man Who Knew Too Much“, “Calamity Jane“, “Young at Heart“, and “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies”. The 93-year-old actress hasn’t appeared on film since 1968, when she starred opposite Brian Keith in the comedy With Six You Get Eggroll.
