Borussia Dortmund put some pressure on Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga with a convincing 5-1 win at Wolfsburg.
Daniel Didavi scored what proved to be merely a consolation for Wolfsburg, while Mario Gomez drew a blank for the third game in a row since arriving from Fiorentina.
Wolfsburg hadn’t conceded a goal all season going into the match tonight, and 15 minutes after the kick-off whistle had blown, the hosts had conceded two as Aubameyang doubled Dortmund’s lead.
Die Wolfe looked to respond and Bruno Henrique forced Dortmund keeper Roman Burki into a save four minutes later with his shot from inside the area, but they fell further behind on 16 minutes when Aubameyang dribbled his way into the area before curling a shot beyond Casteels. Seguin weaved his way down the right wing, and played in a fantastic cross into the path of Didavi, who had an easy finish past Burki, to throw Wolfsburg back into the match with 38 minutes to go. Wolfsburg had just pulled a goal back and looked close to equalizing when Dembele struck.
Aubameyang brought his season total to four goals in four matches and Lukasz Piszczek added the fifth in the 73rd minute.
Newly promoted Freiburg inflicted a third straight defeat on Hamburg, who are third from bottom, as ex-Bayern Munich striker Nils Petersen scored the only goal of the game.

In Tuesday night’s other game, Darmstadt left it late to snatch a point at home to unbeaten Hoffenheim with Denys Oliynyk cancelling out Andrej Kramaric’s opener with the last kick of the game.
