Dortmund Ruthless against Augsburg

Liverpool have been joined by Paris Saint-Germain in the race to seal the transfer of in-form Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He gave Dortmund the lead against Augsburg when he converted Ilkay Gundogan’s pass across on 18 minutes.

Augsburg, in last place on five points, briefly cut the deficit early in the second half with their first chance of the game when Raul Bobadilla headed in a corner.

Harry Kane is third, having also scored a hat trick for Tottenham in a 5-1 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.

However, it seems that Barcelona’s interest in his signature have got Aubameyang interested, as he revealed that he would only consider quitting Dortmund for a move to Spain.

Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos has signed a one-year contract extension at Signal Iduna Park that will keep him at the Bundesliga club until 2019.

Gladbach, who had lost their first five matches of the season before the departure of coach Lucien Favre, took the lead when Lars Stindl’s penalty was saved by Ralf Faehrmann but the midfielder beat defender Benedikt Hoewedes to head in.

An own goal from Andreas Christensen was all Schalke had to show for their efforts as they fell four points behind their local rivals Dortmund in the standings, with just four points also separating them from Gladbach.
