Liverpool have been linked with moves for Marco Reus, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ilkay Gundogan and Neven Subotic since Klopp’s appointment as Brendan Rodgers’ replacement but the German boss played down the transfer talk.

The 26-year-old Gabonese striker had worked with Klopp during his whole career with Die Borussen since 2013 when he was signed for £10 million from Ligue 1 club St. Etienne.

Barcelona have taken an interest in the player as he’s been in red-hot form for the season so far, firing 14 goals in as many games.

Aubameyang only signed a new long-term contract with Dortmund earlier this year committing his future to the club for another five years.

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc, however, has maintained that the pacey forward is an integral part of the side.

Klopp has done his utmost to distance himself from raids for his old Dortmund players, saying: “I have no intention whatsoever to lure Dortmund’s stars to Liverpool”.
