Doug Ford is expected to make an announcement at his family home in Etobicoke on Tuesday morning amid increasing speculation over his political future.

Ford said, before Rob’s death, the brothers were approached by a publishing company to write a book.

Ford said the memoir is written in “Rob’s words” as well as Rob’s widow Renata and his mother, Diane Ford.

The book goes on sale November 22 and has a list price of $32.99.

Ford, a staunch Conservative supporter, had a year ago publicly endorsed Christine Elliott in the provincial PC leadership race which he also at one point considered joining.

Ford, who ran unsuccessfully for mayor in 2014 after his brother dropped out following a cancer diagnosis, said he would be “running politically” within a year.

Rob served as a city councillor for 10 years before he was elected as mayor in 2010.

On the campaign trail, Doug Ford made several gaffes in the final weeks, including being booed at a debate organized by the Jewish community when he stereotypically referenced having a Jewish doctor, dentist and lawyer when questioned about an anti-Semitic slur Rob Ford had made.
