Doug Pederson accepts Eagles’ coaching offer
The Chiefs will play New England on Saturday in an NFL Divisional round playoff game.

That means Pederson can be named the Eagles head coach. “No further interviews are scheduled”.
If Pederson and Eagles have come to a vocal agreement, Philadelphia needs to trust his word and wait for the season to pan out.
The Eagles have already hired Ken Flajole, who is expected to coach the Eagles’ linebackers.
“I have a lot of respect for the organization and what they’re doing there”, Pederson said Wednesday, Jan. 13.
Much of his success on the sideline can be attributed to Andy Reid, the winningest coach in Eagles history.
Reid said he spoke with Lurie about Pederson before his interview for the head coaching vacancy. Pederson was Reid’s offensive coordinator with the Chiefs for the past three seasons.
Tom Coughlin seemed like an odd fit for the Philadelphia Eagles. Pederson succeeds Chip Kelly, who was sacked with one game left in the 2015 season. Running backs coach Eric Bieniemy has also been lauded for his work this year, and could receive interest as an offensive coordinator. A member of the 1960 National Football League championship team, Campbell coached the Eagles from 1983 to 1985.
Jordan Hicks, the rookie linebacker who looked so promising before being injured, played in 4-3 and 3-4 schemes in college.
Pederson assumed the role of Eagles quarterbacks coach one year after Vick’s career-best season in 2010. The key to the plan was drafting a franchise quarterback. He was also Donovan McNabb’s backup in Philly.
Pederson coached the Eagles from 2009-12, completing the tour as quarterbacks coach. According to NJ.com’s list, those are the only three candidates who the Eagles interviewed who are still available.
In Philadelphia, Pederson will have to basically start over.
Pederson isn’t the only member of the Chiefs garnering interest elsewhere. And since he’ll be 70 before next season, it’s also fair to assume he’s made peace with his head-coaching career being over. Pederson was offensive quality control coordinator and then quarterbacks coach under Reid in Philadelphia before leaving for Kansas City in 2013.
ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski thinks the Eagles chose the right man to fill their head coaching void in current Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson.
After a 1-5 start this season, the Chiefs have won 11 games in a row, including a wild-card game last weekend against the Houston Texans. Coughlin talked with the Eagles this morning and was gonna meet with them face to face again but early this afternoon decided not to meet with them and took himself out of contention.

Now Pederson is set to return to the City of Brotherly Love with a chance to try to overhaul an offense that failed to meet expectations.
