Dougherty Elementary School Named National Blue Ribbon School by US Dept of
The Department will honor all 285 public and 50 private schools at a recognition ceremony November 9-10 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. Each school will receive an award plaque and a flag as symbols of their accomplishments.

“I am honored to recognize Cardinal Hickey Academy on being one of eight schools in Maryland selected for this outstanding achievement”, said Congressman Steny Hoyer.
Harford County’s Fountain Green Elementary School was today announced as a 2015 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.

“We are thrilled to receive this award”, Dunning said. In its 33-year history, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has presented this award to more than 8,000 of America’s schools. So anyone you want to see is here because their heart is here. Student subgroup performance and high school graduation rates are also at the highest levels.

According to a press release from the school district, Lakewood Elementary, Myrtle Beach Intermediate, and Forestbrook Middle were among five schools nominated by the South Carolina Department of Education for the prestigious national award last school year.
